Orlando Ramos-Domenech
Chief Strategy Officer
I am joyfully serving in my 32nd year in public education. I served students for 7 years as a bilingual high school social studies teacher in the Bronx, New York. My wonderful students developed me to where I was named teacher of the year twice in that 7-year span. I later transitioned into administration, serving in the following roles:
• New York City (assistant principal, director/principal)
• Chicago (director of turnaround schools)
• East Baton Rouge (associate superintendent)
• Milwaukee (regional superintendent)
• American school in Morocco (chief academic and strategy officer)

I earned my BA in Political Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and my Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to my academic background, I am deeply invested in conflict resolution and strategic leadership. I was honored as co-recipient of the 2008 California Peace Prize for my efforts in promoting peaceful solutions within educational communities.
Outside of my professional duties, I enjoy reading about conflict resolution and strategy, and how they can be applied to educational leadership.
I am honored to serve alongside my incredible colleagues at REAL Journey Academies, where we are relentless in finding solutions that improve the lives of our students and staff.
